if the management light is on , why dont you get it diagnosed, thats what the light is there for. vauxhall have spent millions of pounds on this system and it works. ps, might be the EGR valve, very common prob,

they will be hydraulic tappets, which means they are self adjusting & can't be manually adjusted. if they seem a bit rattly, you could try changing the oil & oil filter.
