what could cause my 75e17 tector to keep running ?

what could cause my 75e17 tector to keep running when turned off i have to stall the engine.also when i try to start it code light comes on when i isolate battery and switch on again its fine

Have had same fault on other vehicles and was the brush pack in the alternator keeping the ing feed live when turned off. Remove the alt wirres tape them up and try again
