How do I refit a front wheelarch?

Okay guys, my wifr had a 'coming together with a van yesterday in the ice! went to the Ford dealer and got new wheelarch clip, slid them into the wheelarch slots but they will not bite into the wing - BTW its a 2007 Ford Ka.
