How can I fix my Ariston Marguerita 2000?

Ariston Marguarita 2000
Had a flood, nothing to do with machine but water went into machine. Now all it will do when I switch on to programme is that the dial just goes round and round and nothing actually happens.
I am sure this happened once before and we were able to sort it but cannot remember how!
