How can I reset / update the software of my vcr/dvd comboset?

I have a problem with my RC 185. Since a few weeks the DVDrecorder

- does not respond to timerrecording,

- sometimes the machine start by saying HELLO and nothing else...

- it sometimes does not open the discdrawer (only after a powercut of at least 10 minutes) **the videorecorder in the meantime this works as it should and does respond to the mainpanel and/or remotecontrol**

- other times it just won't close the drawer but keeps opening it directly after closing it...

- it refuses many a disc to play some 15 times and suddenly plays it as if nothing has happened...


I never have had any problems, until a few weeks ago. Searching the internet made me come across many similar cases and it seems to be software related (like a computercrash or looping programm)...

Can anyone tell me how can I update the software (or reset it)?
