how can i stop my lights flashing ??????

hi please please can anyone help me ?? i have recently become the owner of a 52 plate clio 1.5 diesel dynamique cracking little car, however it does have a problem with the lights randomly flashing whenever it wants to then all of a sudden it just stops
when the lights are flashing there is a a clicking from some kind of black box under the glove box, as you can all tell ive no idea, can anyone put me in the right direction many thanks
