How can I replace a tecumseh engine with a Briggs and Stratton engine? ?

Ariens Sno Thru Model#926101-St926LE. Tecumseh snow king engine LH318SA. After last week snow storm I killed the engine. Forgot to check the oil level. Engine stock, cant full the repcord. Tried many attempt. after starting the engine with the electric start. It loosen the piston. engine starts with one pull but there is a loud knockin inside the engine. Check the belt and shaft, still working. What do you think should I replace the engine or bring it to a local shop? I think the local shop will cost me the same amount for a new engine. I got the tools to replace it, but I dont know the Replacement engien for the Briggs and Stratton. Please help?
