Lift the light hood. Turn the L shaped handle until the red arrows line up. Unlock the power nozzle (head) and remove it. Release the belt tension by turning the L shaped handle until the green arrows line up. Unlock the rug plate from beneath the power nozzle. This is the silver plate underneath the power nozzle. You must turn the black handled latches that are on the rug plate to the unlock position. Remove the rug plate. Remember the bristle height adjustment setting that is located on the plastic edges of the brush. The settings are either one, two or three. Both sides should have the same adjustment. Lift the brush out, which may seem a little difficult. Slide off the old belt and replace with the new one. Place the new belt in the center of the brush. You should have black markings where the old belt was. Replace the brush making sure the height adjustment numbers are the same as when you removed it. Both sides need to be at the same adjustment. Most common adjustment is one. The brush will only fit in one way. There is a smaller side. It should have it written on it. Make sure your belt is still centered. Replace the rug plate. Secure it using the two black handled latches that hold it in place. Using the L shaped handle, turn it until the red arrows line up. It should have grabbed the belt. If not, turn the L shaped handle back to green and then back to red until it grabs the belt. Replace the power nozzle (head) back on the vacuum cleaner. Turn the L shaped handle until the green arrows line up. Close the light hood. Now you are ready to use your Kirby Ultimate G!! Happy vacuuming!!!
