hotpoint FFA70 fridge freezer has stopped working?

My hotpoint FFA70 fridge freezer has stopped working. I have removed the panel from behind the drawers in the freezer. The fan does not work ( there is power as the light in the fridge is working ) Only the green on light in the display lights on the front panel above the fridge door works. The ;- food defrost alert - fast freeze - holiday - freezer high temp lights do not light up. The motor/ compressor also does not start up when plugged in. Any ideas what could be wrong or how to repair it would be greatly appreciated. I could do try to get it fixed before christmas.
