How can I diagnose the problem Vauxhall Frontera 2.3 TD LReg?

The Clutch pedal on my L Reg. vauxhall Frontera 2.3 TD has little of no resistance, it seems to stick half way up on the return. The Clutch is not slipping, The Clutch Master and the Clutch slave cylinders, do not seem to be leaking. I have topped up the master cylinder (needed very slite toppin up) and bleed the system to no avail. hoping it not the clutch can anybody tell me whats wrong or how to diagnose the problem

bleed the clutch slave, if it happens again then change the clutch slave cylinder, not expensive and easy to do . bleed clutch until clean fluid is through.

many cars have issues getting into reverse and grind that i wouldn't worry about tbh if it wont go in to fifth then that sounds like your problem there i would thinkeither clutch or thrust bearing is faulty or the gear box it self has issues the only other thought could be your not getting enough movement on the slave piston i.e. not disigaging the clutch fully but this would be reare you would usally see a leak

Richard,
Yes it does crunch when I put it in reverse, But once its in gear the car pulls fine does not slip. when driving (On the move) all the gears are hard to get into and fifth is imposible just crunches, so at the moment i'm avoiding using fifth.

I bled both the master and slave cylinders.
Thanks for your reply Richard.

Have you bled the slave cylinder that actually operates the clutch arm?
When the car is hot ie normal running temp does it crunch when put into reverse?if it does your clutch is faulty.
