A Hamilton clock I have has 2 screws at the top of an opening which reveals the balance wheel; one near a + and the other near a -. Neither are for adjustment according to my instructions. Instead, you have to adjust the "dart" (regulation lever). The illustration of the lever shows a wheel projecting through the hole in the back of the clockworks. This wheel rotates back and forth horizontally when the clock "ticks." There are dots (apparently adjustment dots) on top of this wheel. The dart is a tiny metal point which points to one of the dots. To make the clock run faster, move this point one dot towards the +; to make the clock slower move this point one dot towards the -. You can continue to move the point every 2-3 days to insure accurate time.
