Mend Samsung S380 Camera Low Battery

How can I fix my Samsung S380?

After switching on the camera, the "Low Battery" sign is displayed and the camera closes down again even when new fully charged batteries are installed. Tried rechargeable Ni-MH 2500's and Duracell Ultra. Same result. Any Ideas?
