Mend Dyson DC14 Vacuum Suction

dyson dc14 animal loss of suction?

I was vacuuming and it cleans fine from the head but not the hose i have checked for blockages and washed the filter but the problem still happens i took the u bend off and the button broke off so the rest of the purple thing is still on and i cant put the u bend on properly so is it damaged?
