citreon picasso 2003 ?

help driving my citreon picasso today engine started making a noise like when air condtioning on but quite loud then on dashboard come up stop engine overheating , do i need to add water to my car and where about is it to add please help afyer leaving for 5 mins all fine and nothing else happened add oil and all ok so far
