Mend Ebac 2600ex

How can I fix or repair my Ebac 2600ex?

When I removed the water container there was a flash and bang as if it shorted out.The water from the container did not spill out anywhere and I would like to know if it could be repaired or not the machine is approx. 4 yrs old
