ok greg the problem is either one of the following...the float has a hole in it and is not floating on top of the fuel just sinking in it...the float needle and/or needle seat is worn ....the float is not adjusted properly .so the most likely one is the float and needle seat being worn and not sealing properly to stop the fuel coming into the float chamber, the float may also need to be bent where the needle fits on it to make it nearer to the seat,if there is a hole in the float you will most probably be able to see the fuel leak from it if you take it out or hear it if you shake the float.the system works on the float lifting up when fuel enters the float chamber (the part lowest on the carb)when it reachs a certain height the float lifts up floating on the fuel and pushes a needle into the hole the fuel is flowing in through therefore stopping the flow and when the fuel is used by the engine the float drops back down alowing more fuel to flow in ect so on and so forth,so from this you should be able to determine the problem ok good luck steve, adam
