how can I get my servis to work properly?

just acquired this plumbed it in, new hoses etc, put in washing, switched on machine, water wouldnt fill, hardly any went in then it started washing with hardly any water so I filled it manually over half full, dial also stayed on same position so eventually I gradually moved it on. Lights were all flashing at once periodically, the dial didnt change but the cucle went to rinse light but still kept washing, it continued to do al this for about 3 hours, still washing, but glass in door was pretty hot too. I switched it off at mains as switch in front is broken.
Now its still got washing in, |I dont know what to do, dont want to switch it on again yet till Ive had advice. This was yesterday
