how can I fix my omega?

A fault has appeared on my dashboard saying check automatic gearbox,the car is a bit sluggish.the car is a vauxhall omega 3.0 elite can anyone help?

You will need to get codes read. When computer detects a fault it will go into failsafe and should be able to get 3 gears manually. Failsafe is not too clever on this model. The fault can be anything upsetting the computer as well as trans. fault. Bad alternators can cause this. If it is in failsafe instantly it is likely something is not plugged on properly. Post more symptoms for better help.
