new cd in car- no memory!!?

I have jst fited a new cd player in my car. working well but for teh lack of memory... it doesn't rembember wher I was on the Cd or radio stations..

does anyone have any clues??

yep, definately got yellow(hot +12v) and red(keyswitched +12v) backwards
