How can I fix the SRS on my C180 Kompressor?

The SRS light on my 52 plate (2003) model C180 Kompressor estate is stuck on. My usual garage has tried 2 different dyagnostic systems (Including full MB system) to fix the falut but neither will talk to the control module. The suggestion is either a blown fuse, disconnected lead or the module its self is blown. Has anyone else had similar problems or know an easy fix, the module is inside the centre consol / dash making access difficult, is there any easy way to get at the module?
