Mend Blades Inch Power

how are the blades removed from a Planer Thicknesser?

I have a ten inch CLM1500PT performance power thicknesser and recently had reason ro remove the blades, three hours later I gave up ! The instruction leaflet simply says" loosen the 7 nuts and remove the blade and the blade lock bar" but how on earth is that done I have tried with the lock nuts just slightly loosened and fully loosened and several stages inbetween but the b.....y blade refuses to come out can the egg head who designed this please inform me to avoid a nervous breakdown >

Okay, after much frustration I have got there with my PRO CLM1500PT. As said, the blade and back bar are not removed as one. The locating pins just seen between bar and blade sit in L shaped slots with an elongated end to the slots which both locates and allows for blade edge wear. Unfortunately these pins and the locating mechanism are neither shown nor referred to in the instructions!
So the removal procedure is to screw in all the set screws, which loosens the blade. The two springs can then push the blade out to the limit allowed by the end shape of the slots. It is then necessary to push the blade back in half way then move to the right until the blade is ejected under spring pressure (unless sticky). Lift out the blade then lift out the back bar.
I have a photo if anyone needs one.

Phil (or anyone else who can help) - okay so the blade and bar should remove together. But I cannot yet manage it. Have tightened adjusting screws again and brushed out any dust etc then loosened fully to tighten them on to the bar (making them as short as possible). I have also moved the assembly left and right and removed the two springs that act on the back of the blade. Even with a carefully applied lever I just can't get the heads of the set screws to clear the housing. Very close, but it won't come out. If I lever anymore am afraid I will deform the thin edge of the blade drum/spindle. Help!

Charlie, I don't have an answer but would like very much to get an answer. The poor quality leaflet sketch shows the blade being removed separately from the blade lock bar, but I can just see two locating pins set into the bar. The blades seem to have L shaped slots to suit. But the assembly together is made wedge shaped to prevent it flying out (?) and I can't separate the blade from the blade lock bar either.

No problem-do as the book says but loosen the nuts clockwise until they are tight again and the blade and locking bar will come out with a bit of jiggling-the bades fit on pins ! on the locking bar.
