How can i fix my cordless Macallister drill?

Cordless drill CoD108VLiD, 10.8V Lithium-ion
My drill is about a year old and up until recently i had not used it much and so had no need to recharge it. However, with increased use i have now had to recharge it for the first time but ever since it just does not want to operate. It indicates with all three lights that battery is full and so i cannot think of what else could be wrong.
Can anybody please suggest some ideas as to what i can try next?

finally got a charger for my piece of tat macallister 10.8. think 1 of the batteries is shot but the other battery is slowly creeping up to 10 volts. its taken days not the 3-5 hours.
am thinking of getting in touch with b&q (if i knew mac tools was a b&q product i would never have bought the thing!) and giving them hell about it.
does anyone know how many volts each of the cells in the battery pack should be? have been looking for any info i can find on these horrible pieces of crap but cant find any

am looking for a charger for one of them cod108lidw drills. made the mistake of buying the cursed thing off ebay without a charger as i thought it would be easy to find one.
have got the drill, a light and 2 batteries but i cant use it cos the batteries came flat as a pancake. the new type 10.8v chargers you can get at b&q fit triangular batteries but mine is square. anyone got a knackered drill, i got a tenner for the charger! ajmgas at hotmail . com

i had the same problem, and after many hours searching i had a stroke of luck. WORX batteries and charger are exactly the same (14.4v) had no trouble with it so far

You can't. Don't buy Macallister products (i.e B&Q). I have contacted B&Q, they just say sorry out of warranty and have never stocked spare batteries. If you check their spares website they don't have spares for ANY of their Macallister power tools. (Which I believe is against E.U. 6 year rule).
Tech fact:- One of the cells in the battery pack has gone high resistance and if replaced drill will work, but this is beyond most peoples capabilities.

Stable door answer
I have one of these drills , have used it a lot, just the right size for me. I have found the battery lasts really well in storage by removing it from drill. If left in its capacity drops off; if they get to low they wont recover.

I think it is the charger that has a loose connection inside. When it's charging it's supposed to show a fixed red led, while the green and yellow are supposed to flash. Instead it defaults straight to fixed green. If you wiggle the cable about the leds start flashing as they should, but only for a few seconds. Waste of money!

same prob I have found Macallister tools to be 3rd rate. we must stop buying them at B&Q then the company either goes bust or they are forced to supply 'fit for purpose ' batteries.

Same thing happened to me. On opening the battery case I found that of the 3 lithium-ion cells, one had died. Just like that, all at once. 2 were fine and had charge.

It is easy to open the battery case, but where do we get the individual cells of the battery? I don't know.

I've got the same problem with my 10.8v Macallister drill. All lights flash on the charger for about 5 minutes, then only the red light. This is only the second time I've charged it so am very unhappy with it. Chuck it in the bin?

Mine is the other way round the battery doesn't seem to fit into the charger properly and no lights appear.

It's 26 months old and has been recharged 3 times.

Obviously something not right with this make of drill?

I had the same problem, seems the battery is fine as I have a lamp which still works from the same type.

Took the thing apart and the motor still works.

What seems to have happened on mine is that the trigger/switch has broken, have tried to source a new one and found the manufacturer http://www.jiaben.com/en/pro_show.asp?id=263 and the part, but there doesn't seem to be a UK importer.

Any ideas?
