saxo engine light?

I have same problem on my 1999 vts i have key symbol on the dash flashing and it wont let me start the engine. ive checked my relay and i only have 1 pin missing but im guessing thats what it should be.ive been told its the transponder aerial sumink to do with they key and immobiliser, try calling out a car lock smith as they can supply you with a new transponder key and reprogram it while there at your car with you. ive been quoted £50-£80 so thats the road im taking. cheers.
