Ford SMax battery replacement?

Not that difficult, just a bit of a fiddle to refit the air filter intake; but all done in 20 mins

What sort of 12v supply can you use and how do you suggest connecting it?

Undo the jubilee clip on the air filter and sensor wire, slide back the rubber gaiter and pull out the filter housing tilting it towards you so that the intake clears the front member.

The front of the batter cover now just un-clips and pulls off, the battery slides forward. I suggest clipping a 12v supply before detaching the battery to avoid the radio code problems.
