Garage door?

Moved to our bungalow 2004 and garage roll shutter door has not worked as the remote unit needs replacing [£300+] so will be replacing with £35 key switch made for roll shutters and will control door [now a workshop]. I need to check the motor is ok prior to ordering switch. If I connect Blue and Brown to load side my assumption is the door will rise when switched. But how would I bring the Black wire in to play to close the door? This, as stated, is to test function of motor so is not to be permanent.
