Mend Maxent MX2601 Just Got 26

i have a just got a maxent 26''?

i received a tv from parents basement and they thought it worked but i plugged it in to cable box using coaxial and turned it on the screen got a bunch of lines through it, wher it couldnt see the picture anymore and will do the same thing every time i try i can see things for 15 sec then every thing scrambles
