Hi, the only wirer that goes to the top of the injector pump (on the left hand side of the engine)(or follow the pipes from the top of the engine and that will lead you to the injector pump) is where the stop valve is located.
1. Pull off the connector (wire) off the top of the valve.
2. Get a long socket to undo the valve, but DO NOT force it.
3. When you undo the valve try and look for any muck or iron fillings that may come out with the fuel, (if there is any thing that comes out with the fuel then this could be singes of pump problems)
4. When out have a good look at the valve and look for any singes of damage or any thing that shouldn’t be there, if in doubt take the valve or/and the vehicle along to your nearest diesel injection place.
5. clean the valve and replace it
6. if you have not change your fuel fitter for a long time, this could also be why you are having problems with the running of the engine, change it if in any doubt what so ever.(and oil and oil filter as this do make a big difference)
7. If you still have a problem then take it to the diesel people.
I hope this has been some help to you and anyone else who may have the same or similar problems
