Mend Indesit Drying Cycle

Indesit IDL530 Drying Light Flashing - Won't finish cycle?

Indesit IDL530 dishwasher will not finish its cycle. It appears to to stop before the rinse cycle. The drying light (4th light) is continusously flashing after the dishwasher stops.

I hope someone can help me please.

I followed Mach's advice.

My dishwasher now works perfectly (touch wood)!

Thanks Mach. You saved me about £80!

Hi James T

The PCB board and thermostat is one item.
follow this link

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B001BZWVJG/ref=ox_ya_os_product#moreAboutThisProduct

This is where i got my PCB/thermostat from. As yo can see from the picture the thermostat is attached to the PCB. Replace this board and hopefully it shojld solve the problem.

That did help thankyou. I have just had it all apart....the element is fine and i think the thermostat is. The piece of copper it slides into was slightly loose so i have tightened that up and its now on a cycle to see if that makes a difference....although the water still doesnt seem to be getting warm! Please could you help me by telling me where i can find a replacement pcb and thermostat...I was searching all night last night with no joy. Many thanks and kind regards

Hi Markos

That link for amazon IS the PCB board, they have just called it a timer.
I have known the PCB to be called "timer card", "programmer card" or "heating card" just to name a few.
Now the problem i had sounds like the same as yours. I normally use the eco cycle (number 3). It would (1) prewash, (2) wash and then stop at (3) rinse, flashing the (4) drying light over and over. I also notcied that the wash cycle was not heating the water, it was just washing the dishes in cold water.
The flashing drying light indicates that the dishwasher is not reaching the required temperature.
When you click on the link i supplied, its the picture of the PCB and this is what i replaced and now all is well :)

James T - The PCB is located just behind where your 4 LED lights are, to access it you will need to unscrew the door panel and completly remove the front door casing.
Now the thermostat is attached to the PCB board itself, its a long black wire and if you follow it, it will lead you to the thermostat itself which is attched just behind the soap dispencer.

now for the element, to access this you will need to lie the dishwasher on its back, remove the panels and you should then see the "belly" of the dishwasher i.e the pump and lots of wire and fixtures. You can easily locate the element by openning the dishwasher door and follow it on the other side. They are connected by 2 wire swhich heat the element itself.

To test them i used an Ohmmeter which i had at work and they were measuring 28 ohms which is correct. If they measure 0 ohms then its broke and needs replacing.

If you cannot get hold of an ohmeter then you won't really know if its packed up or not. The best thing to do is -

1 - make sure the thermostat has not come off from the dispenser, I have a 2 year old son who likes slamming the door and has dislodged the thermostat once already.
2 - On the PCB board itself make sure there are no burn marks from where a componant might have shorted or blown
and 3 - as for the element itslef just make sure the cables attached are dry and connected

If all these check ok then it is more than likely the PCB board.

I've only had my dihwasher for 14 months before it packed up! rubbish indesit!

Hope this helps

Mach,

Thanks for the information you supplied. However, the link you supplied takes me to an Indesit Timer - not a PCB. Is this what I will possibly need?

Furthermore, the Dishwasher appears to not even reach the heating cycle but instead stops before the rinse cycle. Did you have that problem?

Hope you can supply more info and thanks again for your response.

Mark.

Hi

i had the exact same problem. If the element and thermistat is all ok, its the PCB board.

£88 from indesit! Amazon was the cheapest i could find
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B001BZWVJG/ref=ox_ya_os_product#moreAboutThisProduct

Bought my PCB board from amazon £36 (which included delivery.)

Changed the PCB board and now my dishwasher is heating again. Hope this helps!
