Mend Setting Clock Top

PROPER SETTING?

My carriage clock runs fast. There is a setting visible through a glass pane on the top which is marked, "S/R" and "F/A". Between the two is a small silver pin that can swing by degrees toward one setting or the other, but I can't seem to get it right. Does "S/R" stand for "Slower" and ""F/A" for "faster"?

"S/R" slower or retard and "F/A" faster or advance. The age and condition of your clock will also affect its performance. Remember it is a mechanical device and will wear over time and needs proper lubrication.
