53 1.6 16v scenic. Intermittant non start?

Hi. Please help. Hot cold wet dry seems to make no odds will just sometimes turn over and over but will not fire. after long or short runs. quite intermittant but damn thing wont budge and leaves you sat there looking like a right prune. Then for no reason will just suddenly catch!!! Help
