CORSA CUTTING OUT?

Hi,

I am having a problem with my 2003 opel corsa. A few months back it just cut out the speedometer also stopped work at the same time. i have taken it to many place but they never seem to fix the problem. The engine light comes on and then all the lights come on and the car cuts out, it restarts again but seems to cut more often when it is hot...They have replaced the spedometer but it has not fixed the problem. Please any ideas this is costing me a fortune.

these cars have sensors everywhere and are useless, i have one and would advise getting rid, will just empty your purse. ok steer clear of any garage, they will rob you blind.
yourself or a friend, get down the scrapyard and get a maf sensor, crank sensor, egr valve (look these up on net) they wont cost you much (have a heart attack at the new price lol), change one at a time to see if it cures your fault. also check your cooling system, ie. thermostat, waterpump. good luck,,, jimi.

Okay so it is officially not the coil pack. Any one have any other ideas?

Vaux is there a way to check the crank position sensor?

I sent it to Opel and they did the diagnostic test and said there was no problem. I am sending it to someone tomorrow to check the coil pack.. Thanks will let you know if I have any luck…

Possibly faulty coil pack or faulty crank position sensor.
If the engine light has been on a fault code should have been stored in the cars computer. Have any of the places checked these codes? If so what are they, if not why not?
