Nilfisk King Special GM5sao?

My Nilfisk special 1400w will sometimes not go when plugged in,maybe alright for a couple of days then suddenly when plugged will not go. Have checked the electric lead which seems to be in perfect condition.
Have you any suggestions

Next time it packs in, wiggle the lead around the plug area and cleaner itself...if it comes back to life the wire is fractured inside.
