DYSON DC03 Hose jamming in lance, lance wont go into hose?

I have had this for over 5 years and had one service call within the 5 years.All of a sudden it's almost impossible to pull the hose out of the lance, when I do eventually get it out, it's almost impossible to get it down the hose for reseating.I have checked the hose and the lance but can see nothing that may be causing the problem.It's a brilliant light weight vacuum, ideal for me as I am disable.. Thanks for your help
