Mend Kirby G7E Unable Remove Cover

Kirby cleaner G7E?

I am unable to remove the stainless steel(?) cover on my Model G7E. I have taken out all the star screws that I can see (5 front, 1 top & 6 underneath). I need to get at the fan and insides generally to clean and service them. I have the diamond edition, the Ultimate G.
Any help gratefully received.
