vectra diesel engine management light coming on?

2007 Diesel Vauxhall Vectra, Engine management light keeps comes on and off. Took off and cleaned the EGR valve, was not too dirty but light still on. Took of air flow meter and sprayed cleaner into it as well but still no joy. When the light does not stay on constantly what could the problem be.

i have identical car and fault and problem. check vacuum pipe on nearside bulkhead .this can be accessed by lifting long rubber seal and removing plastic panel which covers wiper motors. there is unit on pass side with 2 pipes . mines was loose re connect and bobs your aunty

Its nothing to do with the brakes check all the little black pipes coming from the egr valves check them for tiny little splits you will find one coming out the side of the turbo and that pipe runs to a egr valve on the drivers side that egr valve also has an other pipe follow that one to another egr on the bulk head thats the wall that separates the engine bay from the cab there are another two egr's on the passenger side between the battery and the inner wing you will see pipes on them check them and follow the pipes on to the next egr ond so on.
