want to change the motor on our dyson DC 07 vacuum cleaner?

I have been to the dyson technical site, but the model they are showing is different, the model i have has brush control, and you cannot get to remove the belt from the motor spindle has shown. the motor spindle is not visible due to some mechanism operated by a blue nob on the left hand side of the cleaner looking at it from the front. on the front of the model it says DC07 brush control hepa + near the blue nob it says off. auto. on.
any help would be appreciated in being able to remove the motor.
John.

Dave , this instruction helped me replace the belt of my DC07 (only 4 mths old!) It was a bit of a struggle, but only took ten mins in the end. Great clear instructions, cheers mate. Andy Lpool

Phone the Dyson helpline. Due to the numerous problems since the launch of DC07 vertually all DCo7 motor repairs are carried out Free of Charge by Dyson engineers, this extends to other models and other fault too. Just ask about the TAG initiative.

thanks Dave, that was great advice, could not have managed without you, A bit fiddley but got it in hand now, motor change went ok.
that looks like a bad job though changing the belt from the brush bar to the clutch control. does not look like it is accessable to take off, how can you change a broken belt if this happens,
once again Dave thanks for your help.

Remove the dust collecting bin, turn the machine upside down and remove the sole plate, brush roller and brush roller housing, taking care not to damage the small flexi-hose.
remove the 3 star screws that hold the belt cover on.
slip the belt off the motor spindle.
remove the retaining plastic washers from each side of the machine and remove the upper part of the base from the chassis.
remove the 2 star screws from the front of the motor housing and 3 from the rear.
the motor housing will now seperate from the chassis.
you are left holding the motor housed in its pod.
it will still be attached to the chassis by the motor cable.
you must remove the end retaining cap from the side of the motor pod and prise the motor out of its pod (its a tight fit)
if you dont want to mess about, look on ebay for a motor still in its pod.
it is much easier to fit with a complete pod.
refit in reverse order.
hope this helps.
