Mend Vauxhall Vectra Revs Race Over

revs race over 2500?

Mot failed my vectra because the car cannot hold revs between 2500 and 3000 to check for emissions test. The revs race as soon as it hits 2500 revs. I have no other problem with the revs when driving normally.
