Low oil pressure waring on axsara picasso?

Had the same problem . each time the oil strainer became blocked .Garage charged me £800 new turbo turbo pipes and new strainer ,this lasted three months then went again ,this time cost £200 .Garage said they had never seen this happen before.
I can not afford to spend anymore money on it ,so I have now done it myself another 4 times ,the last time it went 12 months . Don't know where the carbon is coming from ? ITS a 120000 on a 57 plate

Same problem here, Fu..... filter, make this problem. change it and it will be good. Center part of filter has moved, that couse problem. With new filter, works great. If you reuse oil you will need to add round half of liter...

I had the same problem with my Picasso. The warning message was displayed on the dashboard along with a bleep. When i revved the car it seemed to ease the problem, though when idling the warning message was constantly being displayed. I dumped the oil and changed the filter and it worked fine after that.

As you state in the question, it is the low oil PRESSURE warning, not low oil level.
Although low oil level can cause low pressure through starvation, this is clearly not the case here.
There are a number of possibilities.
When was the last oil and filter change? If the oil is old, of the wrong grade or of poor quality you will have this problem.
If the engine is worn, especially on the main bearings, you will have this problem, but it's usually only seen on badly maintained and high mileage vehicles, or on vehicles which have been driven with low oil pressure (it's a vicious circle).
Failing oil pump.
Faulty oil pressure switch.
Blocked oil strainer in sump, either by foreign matter inside sump or because sump pan has been pushed in, caused by hitting something or incompetently placed mechanics jack.
