Ducato Speedometer?

I have a 2001 2.8 Ducato and the speedometer is working but the mileometer is only turning slowly , that is for every ten miles i do it goes only one mile on. Question is do i have to replace the whole dash or can i get the speedometer out for repair.For this year i think its a cable type one.
