Mend Valliant Hot Boiler

Valliant Ecotec pro 28 F22 error no hot water?

I know that the error means there is no water in the boiler, but how do I refill it? Does the pressure valve refill the boiler? There is a silver flexible hose at the bottom (no key) but think a flat head screw driver would work if this is the corect way to fix?? Any advice?

I bled my rads for the first time about an hour ago and then found they had all gone cold. Saw F22 blinking. Followed your instructions (I think?) and it seems to have worked. Many thanks!! :)

Found that after my water company (Southern Water) very kindly turned off the mains to fix a pipe round the road, that I had no hot water or heating and had a red light. I tried the ignite button but it made a couple of attempts and then back to red light and F22 code. Followed the advice and opened the valves on the silver pipe and hey presto, pressure and ignition. Thanks all.

I was about to call out an engineer because of an F.22 error, only to find all of your comments on this site. You have saved me a pound of flesh which I don't have.

Cheers people

Bleed rads & 4 hrs later boiler shut down with F22 error. Opened both serviceman valves on silver flexi hose. Pressure indicator went up. Took level to halfway position & bingo boiler fired up.

Yes bleeding the radiator causes to reduce the level of water in the system. The red light and f22 error indicates this. you would have noticed no air pressure, the dial wold be very low, turn using a flat head screw driver until its at least towarsd the end of grey area. That should do the trick, press the ignite button if needs be to kick start it.

I realised as well as no hot water, there was now no heating, so I decided just to try the pressure valve using the screwdriver.

At first, the pressure guage never moved off zero, but then eventually I heard water return into the tank and the pressure gauge went up.....just took it to mid way in the grey area. Took a minute or 2. Will check it again over the next few days.

Would this have been related to me bleeding the radiators?
Cheers :)

that's probably what you're after, open it slowly and remember to turn it off fully.
