I have a Renault Megane scenic 1.6, 1998 and I can't turn my car on becau?

I have a Renault Megane scenic 1.6, 1998. I can't turn
my car on because my key is not turning the alarm off; I keep pressing the button, however, nothing happens and I have a flashing red light (alarm) on. What can I do? can I remove the alarm so I can start my car?
