Mend Hotpoint FZA81 Temperature Thermostat Appliance

why does high temp light come on?

This is a Hotpoint FZA81 freezer. Every so often for no reason the red high temp light comes on. i have to keep the freezer on it's coldest setting. Also ice keeps forming behind the back panel which I assume affects the thermostat.
