Mend Renault Megane 03 Plate

hand brake on 03 plate megane?

is there a quick fix to fix hand brake not clicking on my megane. had center console off and noticed the rachett & teeth arent engaging when the handle is pulled up (aircraft type hadle), can this be fixed diy? or is it a new handle required? any info obtained would be much appreciated, otherwise anyone want a french car???

i had the same problem, basically the arm is worn down and there is no way of repacing it without destroying the mechanism, luckily for me i know a welder who welded a dot onto the end and i filed it down so it would fit in to the groves. other than that its £275 for a knew one from renault unless your lucky enough to find one at a scrap yard.
