Mend Renault Megane 97-98 Immobiliser Battery Starting Problem

it just does'nt turn over!!!! my car has died,, nothing works the immoboliser and lights dont do anything i put the key in the ignition and nothin makes any sound??tried a new battery and got it jumped started then drove about and it just cut out and would not start or do anything there is no power at all, after jump starting again it worked till i got home and turned it off, went to try the immoboliser again to start it up and again it has just died i have no idea what it is and have no cover with the car there are no strange noises or smells it just does'nt do anything,,,plz help

my alternater has packed in so car will not start as battery is drained,i removed the battery to look for alternater but cannot find it in the engine its a renault megane 1.4 1997 hatchback can soneone help please

Check the battery voltage.
Check the fuse on the battery cable (if fitted) and the other main fuses.
If they are OK get a single jump lead, clip one end on to the battery negative, clip the other end to a solid piece of metal on the engine, usually the bracket for lifting the engine out.
If the car starts with this cable fitted you have an earth problem.
Check all earth wire connections, eg battery negative post to chassis, engine to chassis.
Do not drive the car with the jump lead in place, this is a test method not a cure!!
When the car is running test the alternator output.
