You don't just buy the gas & somehow fill the fridge. You need the pressure gauges & a way to seal of the pipes after filling. A specialised job. You also need to find if the system has a leak somewhere otherwise you are wasting your time.

You can't. Do you know for definite that the gas has leaked out, it could be the compressor thats gone. This is a specialised job that needs to be done by a professional person.
