how can i fix my 2001 model renault clio 1.4 privilege?

the engine wont turn over just a clicking sound when you turn the key. i have tried to jump start, played with the white cable to the starter motor and all of the immobiliser suggestions. The immobiliser light goes out when you have the key in and turn prior to ignition.
