My cassette player in my 2000 4runner spits out the adapter to my sat. radi?

The cassette player in my 2000 4Runner spits out the adapter to my XM radio. It worked fine for about 3 years, but all of a sudden, the adapter goes FF then RW and then spits it out. I bought the cleaner from Radio Shack, but it spits that out as well. Is there anything I can do before I take my truck to an audio repair place?
