Hi Jim, I am actually bored so I will talk you through this one it's very simple and I have my 7yr old do mine for me!
Remove the tap and it's components from the box and you should find the following:
Main system with hot and cold valves and spout (spout may need attaching with small screw depending on make)
two copper or flexy pipes
a brass nut
a metal clamp washer and a rubber secure washer (shaped slightly like a half moon)
a rubber o'ring
And finally the thread spindle
The thread spindle should be tightened into the small hole under the main system there should be a recess in one end so it can be secured with a slotted screwdriver, if there isn't then just tighten it by hand but DO NOT use grips or plier as this will damage the thread. Just tighten it hand tight as you will get tension when you complete the following. No attachy the hot and cold pipes/flexis using a small adjustable spanner making sure they are both firmly secure. Now put the o'ringover both pipes and the thread spindle carefully aqnd push it to the base of the tap, it will fit securly. Now put your tap through the sink hole ensuring that the hot is to the left and the cold is to the rightthen put the rubber secure washer over the spindle, it will have a small hole in it so you can push it round, then put the metal clamp washer on after that and then the brass nut and tighten the nut ensuring the tap is still straight and tighten the nut securely so the tap will not move and hey presto!!!
Hope this has helped you my friend.
