what kind of clutch is in my x reg zafira?

i was driving my car earlier and i suddenly couldnt change gear my hero managed to drive me back home gettin to 3rd gear goes into gear easily when engine is off the clutch pedal is loose do i just need a clutch cable or is it more technical!!!! please help me
