Mend Clock Stopped Repair

The clock in my room has stopped?

It is a wall clock that looks more like a decoration. For some reason it has stopped and anytime I replace the battery, it works for about half-a-day, then stops again. Are the hands maybe too heavy? This is the best explanation I could come up with. Any other diagnoses?
